Background
Vineyard Summer Soccer Camp was founded by David Cervone, who has 16 years of experience and involvement with all aspects of youth soccer. He first volunteered as a coach for a kinder-soccer team when his son was four years old. He will tell you to this day that he had no idea it would become such a substantial, influential and rewarding part of his life.
David has held every conceivable position on a town, district and state level over the last 16 years...starting out as an AYSO coach and for the past six years serving as President of The Easton, CT Travel and Premier Soccer Club. He has also served on the Board of the CJSA Southwest District for the last eight years, and is currently on the Disciplinary Committee of the Connecticut Junior Soccer Association. In addition to being a certified referee, he holds multiple CT State and National USSF licenses, and has coached various travel and premier (boys and girls) teams.
David holds a NSCAA Director of Coaching Diploma, as well as a Diploma in Sports Coaching Education. He has written coaching curricula for the ages of U-5 to U-18, and for over a decade has taught coaching clinics for experienced and aspiring coaches. Although his experience spans beginning instruction up through state and regional competitive coaching at the high school level, his philosophy is consistent...to create a positive experience, set good examples and teach lessons that can and will be used in other aspects of the players' lives.
